Against the timeless backdrop of Rome, the inaugural Anantara Concorso Roma—La Dolce Vita delle Automobili—set the stage for a remarkable celebration of automotive heritage from April 16 to 19. The event gathered collectors, restorers, and historic car manufacturers across some of the city’s most iconic locations. Among the highlights, Automobili Lamborghini unveiled a meticulous restoration carried out by its heritage division, Lamborghini Polo Storico.
Taking center stage was a stunning 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV, presented as part of the model’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Finished in the rare “Luci del Bosco” shade—a deep brown tone translating to “forest lights”—the car underwent a painstaking three-year restoration aimed at returning it to its exact factory-delivered condition. The process relied heavily on original production records and archival documentation, ensuring historical accuracy down to the finest detail.
When the Miura SV arrived in Sant’Agata Bolognese in late 2023, it no longer matched its original specifications. Over the course of the restoration, every component was carefully examined and corrected where necessary. Exterior elements such as air intakes, ventilation grilles, and trim pieces were restored to period-correct form, while mechanical details—including the center-lock wheels and exhaust system—were re-engineered to match original standards.
Inside, the cabin was fully re-created using period references. The restoration team reinstated the original air-conditioning system, refined the controls, and returned the interior to its correct “Senat” color scheme. Even the paint and trim choices were verified through historical data, reflecting how specifications evolved during the Miura’s production run.
Beyond the Miura SV, the concours also featured several historically significant Lamborghinis from private collections. These included two Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary models and a Lamborghini Miura P400 with a cinematic legacy tied to The Italian Job. The P400 drew particular attention, earning both a class award and a special film-related distinction. Contrary to long-standing myths, the original movie car was never destroyed; its authenticity was later confirmed and restored by Polo Storico in 2019.
While icons like the Jaguar E-Type are often hailed as the most beautiful cars ever made, the Miura continues to hold its place firmly in that conversation. With this latest restoration, Lamborghini once again proves its commitment to preserving automotive history—bringing one of its most celebrated creations back to life in breathtaking form.
