2027 Hyundai Grandeur Revealed With Luxury-Inspired Interior and Sharper Design

Hyundai’s Flagship Sedan Gets a Bold Update for 2027

The Hyundai Grandeur, one of the brand’s longest-running nameplates since its debut in 1986, has received a significant mid-cycle refresh for 2027. Although it remains relatively under the radar in global markets due to its limited availability, the Grandeur continues to play a key role in Hyundai’s upper lineup, positioned just above the Sonata.

The latest version builds on the seventh-generation model introduced in 2022, refining its futuristic design while pushing further upmarket in both styling and technology.

Exterior Design: Sharper, Sleeker, More Premium

The updated Grandeur embraces an even more modern look with thinner, bezel-less headlights positioned beneath a slim horizontal LED daytime running light bar. Hyundai claims the redesigned hood has been extended to create a “shark nose” profile, giving the sedan a more aggressive stance.

At 198.8 inches (5,050 mm), the new model is slightly longer than its predecessor. The front end features a refreshed bumper with a mesh-style pattern, while the rear benefits from an even slimmer full-width taillight design. A new “Artistic Burgundy” color option, combining matte and pearl finishes, further enhances its premium appeal.

Interior: A Major Leap in Luxury and Technology

Inside, the 2027 Grandeur undergoes its most dramatic transformation yet. The cabin now features Hyundai’s latest Pleos infotainment system, highlighted by a large 17-inch central touchscreen running on Android Automotive OS.

Physical controls have been significantly reduced, with climate settings now fully integrated into the touchscreen interface. A smaller digital driver display is positioned higher on the dashboard to improve visibility and driving focus.

One of the standout innovations is the panoramic roof, which can now switch between transparent and opaque modes electronically. Ambient lighting has also been upgraded, and the door panels adopt a sofa-inspired design theme that matches the seat upholstery.

Premium Materials and Comfort Focus

Hyundai has clearly aimed for a more luxurious experience, incorporating real wood trim, metal accents, quilted surfaces, and refined knot-style stitching throughout the cabin. The overall design approach pushes the Grandeur closer to Genesis-level sophistication, even though it remains a Hyundai-badged model.

Positioning and Market Context

Despite its upscale ambitions, the Grandeur is still positioned as a more accessible alternative to the Genesis G80 and G90. It caters to buyers seeking a large, comfortable sedan without stepping into full luxury-brand territory.

While SUVs continue to dominate global markets, Hyundai and Kia still see value in large sedans. In select regions, Kia continues to offer models like the K8 and K9, reinforcing the continued relevance of the segment in Korea and other markets.

Powertrain Outlook and Value

Official technical specifications for the 2027 model have not yet been released. However, the previous generation offered a range of engines, including four- and six-cylinder options, hybrid variants, and even an LPG-compatible V6 in certain markets.

The outgoing model was also known for its strong value proposition in South Korea, where pricing started at approximately 37,980,000 won (around $25,700 USD), making it an attractive option in the full-size sedan segment.
